Computer Electronics (KPI textbook, 2018)

A broad Ukrainian-language textbook spanning semiconductor devices, analog amplification, pulse shaping, switching circuits, logic, sequential circuits, DACs, and ADCs; useful as a curricular map but too component-specific and dated to displace GTK's independently verified topic chapters.

Anatolii Novatskyi's Computer Electronics is a lecturer-authored KPI textbook that combines analog, pulse, and digital material in one 2018 volume. It is admissible as an explanatory secondary source, not a primary authority. Its main value for GTK is its unusually broad curricular map and the continuity it shows from device characteristics and analog feedback to pulse circuits, Boolean implementation, state-holding logic, and data conversion.

Complete scope #

Physical pages 14-81 cover semiconductor materials, junctions, diodes, bipolar and field-effect transistors, thyristors, and optoelectronics. Pages 82-169 cover amplifier metrics and impedances, feedback, transistor and operational-amplifier circuits, power stages, active filters, and sinusoidal oscillators. Pages 170-298 cover supplies, differentiating and integrating pulse networks, clamping, diode/thyristor/transistor switches, Schmitt triggers, comparators, multivibrators, and ramp generators. Pages 299-422 cover sampling terminology, Boolean algebra and minimization, logic gates and families, combinational networks, flip-flops, registers, counters, dividers, and distributors. Pages 423-463 cover R-2R and switched-capacitor DACs, sample-and-hold circuits, successive-approximation ADCs, and combined conversion structures.

Routing decision #

Every substantive concept was mapped against the GTK manifest. All have an existing canonical electronics topic, and those entries already use more current primary or manufacturer evidence. No source-specific catch-all topic was created, and no existing chapter was weakened or duplicated merely to cite this volume. The source remains registered because it is a complete admissible book and because the audit preserves the curriculum and visual inventory; it is not cited as load-bearing evidence for modern device limits, obsolete Soviet/post-Soviet IC examples, logic-family operating values, or current ADC/DAC performance.

Visual audit #

All 468 physical pages were rendered and inspected. The visual ledger records 324 pages with figure or table captions, including 389 figure-caption lines and 54 table-caption lines. The visuals comprise device structures and characteristics, amplifier and pulse-circuit schematics, transfer and timing diagrams, logic symbols and truth tables, combinational/sequential block diagrams, and converter structures. No visual was retained: GTK already has clearer independently authored diagrams or the source image is tied to an obsolete example device. This omission is explicit, not a prose-only reading shortcut.

Source limits #

The publisher record describes 469 pages, while the supplied PDF contains 468 physical pages; the file is internally complete through its index. Some treatments use period-specific terminology, idealized device models, and named ICs that should not be generalized to current parts. Those details were recorded as source limitations and were not promoted into topic prose.

Reading evidence #

The complete page ledger, visual ledger, concept map, claim audit, identity fingerprint, ambiguities, and reconciliation capsule are stored under docs/source-audits/power-electronics-and-computer-electronics-2026-08-21/. The archived PDF is byte-identical to the supplied source.
